Helping Conserve and Preserve Nature

PVAS participates in a variety of conservation activities throughout its service area including habitat restoration, birds, butterflies and pollinators, and Grassland Birds.

Our Annual Birdseed Sale and Native Plant Sale are fundraising events that help us maintain 500+ acres of habitat at our natures preserves in Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan Counties.

Currently PVAS is collaborating with Shepherd University, WV Department of Natural Resource Conservation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife to conserve Chimney Swift habitat on Shepherd University campus. The Raise the Roost initiative is a habitat mitigation effort made possible by community support.
