The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is a chapter of the National Audubon Society and draws its members from Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Maryland.

PVAS's programs and activities are focused on promoting greater understanding and appreciation of the natural world.

The chapter offers a wide variety of educational programming for children and adults alike.

Its children's programs include programs for area schools, a very popular summer day camp, and special programs for Scouts and other youth groups.

For adults, PVAS offers a very active nature photography group, local Master Naturalist Program training, occasional workshops, and monthly speakers and field trips.

PVAS sponsors a variety of community events each year, including a spring Wildflower Festival, a summer outdoor concert series, and fall Arts Festival.

PVAS also serves the community by providing a wildlife rehabilitation service, which takes calls and coordinates the transport of injured and orphaned wildlife to wildlife rehabilitation facilities.

PVAS co-manages two nature preserves with The Nature Conservancy: the 104-acre Yankauer Preserve in Berkeley County and the 354-acre Eidolon Preserve in Morgan County. It uses these properties as outdoor classrooms for its educational programs.

In addition to working closely with The Nature Conservancy, PVAS also has partnerships with other conservation-minded organizations in the area, including the US Fish and Wildlife Service's National Conservation Training Center, the Conservation Fund’s Freshwater Institute, and the Isaac Walton League of Berkeley County.

PVAS is a member of the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle and the Combined Federal Campaign.

The chapter newsletter, Valley Views, is published ten times a year. You can find a link to the current edition near the top of the page.
