The Potomac Valley Audubon is co-sponsoring a hawk-watching trip with the Washington County Bird Club to the Washington Monument State Park, outside Boonsboro MD on Wednesday October 15. 

Meet Jim Farley, trip leader, at the upper parking lot of the State Park at 9:30. The watch will go until Noon, however participants are welcome to stay longer if they wish.

This trip should offer good opportunities to view these magnificent birds in large numbers during their annual fall migration.

This hawk watch is free and open to anyone with an interest. Children are welcome, however need to be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is strongly encouraged. Participants that register will be notified by email no later than 6:00 pm the preceding day in the event the activity is canceled.

Participants should wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions and bring along drinking water and insect repellent.  Binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them.
