What: eMammal: Citizen Science Camera Trapping of Mammals Program offered by Blandy Experimental Farm and a PVAS walk through the Arboretum

When: Thursday, November 13

Where: State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy Experimental Farm, VA 

Time: 1:00 - 2:30 pm for the eMammal Program;  11:30 am - 1:00 pm for a PVAS stroll through the Arboretum

The Blandy Experimental Farm is offering a Program on an eMammals Citizen Science Program. 

This event is not sponsored by the Potomac Valley Audubon Society. However, local PVAS member and Master Naturalist, Debbie Maiorano, is organizing the following:

If interested and weather permitting meet Debbie Maiorano outside the Blandy Gift Shop at 11:30 a.m. to take a leisurely stroll of the beautiful Arboretum grounds. Dress appropriately for the weather and the walk and bring binoculars

Then join Debbie as she attends the scheduled eMammal Program.

Speaker: Tavis Forrester,                                 Smithsonian Conservation Biology

eMammal links volunteers with scientists to survey mammals using trip cameras placed in protected areas. 2000 cameras have recorded thousands of wildlife detections. See amazing photos and learn results and future plans for this growing project.

Blandy is located one mile east of the Waterloo intersection of Route 340 and Route 50/17 near Boyce, VA. Blandy is approximately 15 minutes from Winchester, 50 minutes from Shepherdstown, and 40 minutes from Martinsburg. The main entrance is located on Route 50/17 and the address is 400 Blandy Farm Lane, Boyce, VA 22620
