What: Winter Bird Walk and Driving Tour

Where: Meeting spot at Martin's Grocery Store in Charles Town then carpooling to various locations around the Eastern Panhandle; Visit sites such as the ponds on Country Club Road, Potomac Street, several stops along the Shenandoah River and more

When: Wednesday January 14, 2015 (snow date of January 21)

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Don't let winter weather keep you inside! Come along with Jim Farley as he embraces winter birding and explores various birding sites.

Meet at the Martin's Grocery Store in Charles Town at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 14. From there, participants can carpool to a variety of birding locations. 

Spots to be visited include Country Club Pond, Potomac Street, several stops along the Shenandoah River and more, depending on the time frame.

The group will primarily be looking for migrating ducks but will be checking the shore lines for other winter birds as well. 

Please bring along drinking water and wear sturdy walking shoes. In addition, remember to dress for the prevailing weather conditions. 

This event is free however pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend. 

If roads are icy or snow covered, you will receive an email notification the evening prior to the event. A snow date is set for the following Wednesday, January 21.
