Take advantage of this joint activity between the Potomac Valley Audubon Society and the Charles Town Farmers Market. Local arborist, Shawn Walker will guide you through a fall walk among Charles Town’s diverse tree population that surrounds the market on Samuel Street. 

Some evergreen identification will be highlighted as will methods of recognizing deciduous trees through their fall characteristics, bark, twigs and other distinctive features. 

In keeping with Shawn’s tree walk tradition, the event will culminate with a tree height guessing contest.

We will finish in time to get back to the market and do some shopping. 

Please dress for the weather and bring drinking water. 

The Tree Walk will take place rain or shine but will cancel if severe. Children welcomed with guardians.

The tree walk is free however registration in encouraged. 
Meet at the Old Charles Town Library at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 17.
