The Potomac Valley Audubon Society and Craftworks at Cool Spring are jointly sponsoring an evening owl prowl walk at Craftworks outside Charles Town, WV on Friday, October 30.  

Enjoy the brisk fall weather while looking for owls, bats and other creatures of the night with expert birder and Master Naturalist Joette Borzik.  

After the walk, participants can enjoy a light snack around the warmth of a campfire.

The walk will begin at 6:00 p.m. and last about three hours.  

The Owl Prowl event is free and open to anyone with an interest.  Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The walk begins at the Craftworks parking lot located at 1469 Lloyd Road south of Charles Town, WV.  The event will involve 1 to 2 miles of walking on uneven and rolling terrain using flashlights.

 The walk will be conducted even if it is raining.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes; dress appropriately for the prevailing weather; bring drinking water, insect repellent and one flashlight per person.  Bring your binoculars if you have them, and a few pair will be available for those who need them.
