Peter Burr Farm, Bardane WV                   Ages: 8-13 (or entering grades 3-7)

Life 200 years ago was a real survival situation!  Fire, food, and water were basics that you couldn’t do without, so this week will challenge you to really rough it.  Learn to build a fire, then cook over it.  Practice your knife and whittling skills.  Learn knot-tying and lash a wood frame.  Maybe even make a “bone” whistle. On Thursday night, you and a parent are challenged to spend the night under the stars (no tents!) at the Peter Burr farm after cooking your dinner over the open campfire.

  • Non-PVAS members pay the higher price for the first child only.  Other children in your family may be enrolled at the lower price.
  • If you wish to reserve your spot with a $50 non-refundable deposit, please contact before you register.
  • Campers should dress in clothes that can get dirty!  Bring a lunch and morning snack, water in a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and bug repellent.
  • T-shirts must be ordered by May 30 to ensure delivery at camp.
  • Complete information about what to bring to camp, directions to camp, and other things parents want to know, is found at
