  • Yankauer Nature Preserve

WHO: Shepherd Students!

WHAT: Volunteer Service Opportunity

WHERE: Yankauer Nature Preserve

WHEN: August 16, 2016

Shepherd University's 16th annual Day of Service will be held at Yankauer Nature Preserve!

For this event we invite you to explore Yankauer and get your hands dirty helping PVAS maintain Yankauer's beautiful and unique habitat.  Work will include freshening up hiking trails, removing dead brush, invasive plants, clearing interpretive signs, and enhancing the preserve's curb appeal and parking area.

Please come ready to work with a refillable water bottle, closed-toed shoes, long pants and long sleeves. We will provide tools and work gloves, though you are welcome to bring your own. Water refills and lunch are provided. There is also a restroom on site. Register with Shepherd University by contacting Rachel Moreno.

Day of Service is a great way for Shepherd Freshman to meet each other, get involved in the local community, and to invest in our outdoor recreation and education centers such as the Yankauer Nature Preserve!
