  • Introduce your preschooler to the Natural World and Explore it together. Programs held at Yankauer Nature Preserve.

Registration is closed

Unfortunately, this Wee Naturalists program has been cancelled.  It snowed!  It's really cold and the parking lot at Cool Spring Preserve is not plowed.

When:  Friday, March 17, 2017.  Pre-registration is required (limited numbers)

Time:  9:30-11:00 a.m.

Where:  Cool Spring Nature Preserve, 1469 Lloyd Road, (south of Charles Town WV)

Price:  $5 (single fee) per child/adult partner. (There is no extra charge for an additional child under age 2.)

This Month's Theme:  This month we'll be listening for the different sounds that can be heard in nature.  Is that song a bird?  Is that hum an insect?  What about the water--does it make a sound?

Introduce your preschooler (ages 3-5) to the natural world and explore it together through walks, circle time, games, crafts, and activities!

Every month we'll focus on something different in nature, appropriate to the season. The first half hour of the program is designed for un-programmed activities and exploring with your child together.  A more structured program follows from 10-11 a.m.

A minimum of 8 is needed to conduct the program, so pre-registration is essential.

Pre-registration is required. If the minimum number is not met, this program can be cancelled.  Programs are conducted rain or shine and include activities in an open-air pavilion and nature walks. Everyone should wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
