Join the Potomac Valley Audubon Society on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00 PM for our regular monthly program.

Mr. Hershberger, local bird expert, presents “A Celebration of Birdsong.” This celebration exhibits the photography and sound recordings of Wil Hershberger. As we follow the songs and sounds of birds from winter into early summer, we will look more closely at the songs of a few species to see how truly special birdsong is and what it might be telling other birds about the singer. We will watch as birds sing, through the amazing videography of Wil’s friend Lang Elliott, and we will “see” the songs of several species and examine the fine details of the vocal performances of these amazing creatures.

Wil Hershberger, who lives in Hedgesville, is one of the area's leading naturalists.

He has been photographing and recording the natural world for more than two decades and his work has been published in magazines, calendars, and books. He is coauthor of "the Songs of Insects", a book and audio CD published by Houghton-Mifflin Company. He is also the instructor of our very popular Birding 101 class.

His recordings of birds, frogs and insects are archived at the Macaulay Library of Natural Sounds at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology.

His website can be found at natureimagesandsounds.com

This program is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
