PVAS Trip Leader: Carol Winckler

Join PVAS trip leader, Carol Winckler for a family friendly birding trip at Cool Spring Preserve on Saturday, July 29th.

Cool Spring Preserve is the prefect place for children and families to enjoy and learn about birding in a safe and beautiful environment. The trails at Cool Spring have a lot to offer! From well maintained foot paths to gorgeous views, the preserve's 12 acres is home to much wildlife.

Carol is gearing her walk towards teaching children how to use binoculars, how to listen for bird calls and spot birds in tress and on the fly. Families can enjoy walking trails through woods, meadow and beside a stream while finding local birds and perhaps a surprise or two.  Trails can be slick if there has been rain so wear appropriate footwear.

Please meet by 9:30 AM in the front parking lot of Cool Spring Preserve, the walk will last a couple of hours.

We welcome any child and family with an interest, regardless of their birding skills.

This walk is limited to 20 participants and registration is required

If  you have questions or would like more information, contact trip leader Carol Winckler at cjwinck@frontiernet.net or 240-888-3243.

This walk is geared towards children and families, however please make sure all children are accompanied by an adult.

Participants should wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions, and bring along water. Bug spray and sunscreen is also recommended. Binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them.

The trip may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
