Join the Potomac Valley Audubon Society on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:00 AM for PVAS's Public Program in Morgan County.

Fish that dwell on land, iguanas that swim in the sea, and home to the largest tortoises on Earth: The Galápagos Islands have mesmerized the world at large for generations. Considered to be a paramount site for conservation, the Galápagos Islands have received a lot of attention since Charles Darwin wrote his famous accounts in 1859.

Bridget Tinsley, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and PVAS's Land and Watershed Program Manager, spent the summer of 2016 working in the Islands; she will share a brief history of the islands, and describe the contemporary context of conservation in the Islands. Through vivid photographs, personal narratives, and encounters with local residents, the presentation will describe the milieu of outcomes from such a grand reputation.

This program is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
