Location: Eidolon Nature Preserve, 2146 Orleans Rd, Great Cacapon, WV 25422. The entrance is very discreet, with just two short stone pillars holding the blue front gate. There is a sign on a tree near the entrance declaring Eidolon is a public preserve. The gate will be open for hikers, so please drive into the preserve and park at the lower parking area.

If you're coming from Jefferson County and would like to carpool please contact Bridget Tinsley at Bridget@potomacaudubon.org and plan to meet in the parking lot of the Shepherdstown Food Lion on Route 45 at 8:15 am. The preserve has very limited parking so carpooling is preferred. If you're coming from Morgan or Berkeley County or prefer to drive to Eidolon directly from elsewhere, we will be meeting at the preserve at around 10:00 am.

Hiking at Eidolon will be at a moderate pace but the preserve has many hills. Please wear appropriate shoes and dress for variable weather. We may also have the opportunity to see a variety of birds and other wildlife, so binoculars are recommended. Please  a refillable water bottle and any accessories that will help you stay comfortable (sun wear, bug spray, hats, etc).
