September is the month that most monarchs will migrate through our region on the way to Mexico where they will spend the winter. The Monarch Alliance, a program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, will be sponsoring activities during the month of September to celebrate this special event.

Visit the Discovery Station where there will be an ongoing monarch butterfly exhibit and monarch rearing cage, where monarch caterpillars will be raised into butterflies, tagged and released.
