The Monarch Alliance, a program of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, announces its Fall Milkweed and Native Plant Sale and Fundraiser!

This will be held at Sunny Meadows Garden Center on Sharpsburg Pike on September 16th, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The sale is a Fundraiser for the benefit of the Alliance’s Grant Program, a new program to provide funds for more public Monarch Waystations in our region.

The monarch butterfly can find the smallest garden if it contains milkweed.  The Alliance will offer two milkweed favorites – Butterfly Weed and Swamp Milkweed.  And this year, the Alliance will offer a third variety for sale, Whorled Milkweed.

The Monarch Alliance will also offer native plants and cultivars for sale from North Creek Nurseries and from Archewild Nurseries, which specializes in “pure native” varieties.

The Monarch Alliance will be on hand to provide planting tips for your Monarch Waystation and members of the Junior Monarch Alliance will be on hand to provide tips on raising monarchs and to sell Butterfly lollipops to support their program.
