Cost: Free - or feel free to make a donation to Bushel and Peck and Jefferson GAP Coalition in support of the new indoor, year-round grocery store, and Trees 101 will match the donations, dollar for dollar, up to $200! Donations may be paid upon registration or checks may be handed to trip leader Shawn Walker on the morning of the walk. 

Take advantage of this joint activity between the Potomac Valley Audubon Society and the Charles Town Farmers Market. Local arborist, Shawn Walker (of Trees 101) will guide a fall walk among Charles Town’s diverse tree population that surrounds the market. 

Some evergreen identification will be highlighted as will methods of recognizing deciduous trees through their distinctive features. The event will culminate with a trunk diameter guessing contest with the winner winning market bucks!

We will finish in time to get back to the market and do some shopping. 

Please dress for the weather and bring drinking water. 

The Tree Walk will take place rain or shine but will cancel if severe weather rolls in. Children and pets are welcome with guardians.

Registration is not required but strongly encouraged. 
Meet at the Old Charles Town Library at 9:30 AM on Saturday, October 21.
