Where: Cool Spring Preserve, 1469 Lloyd Road, Charles Town, WV

When: Saturday, May 12, 2018, International Migratory Bird Day!

Time: 4:30 AM

Cost: Free

PVAS Trip Leader: Wil Hershberger

Join in the celebration of International Migratory Bird Day with Sunrise Birdsong at Cool Spring Preserve! We will be out on the preserve by daybreak, listening to the bird's dawn chorus as they welcome the rising sun.

Please meet trip leader, Wil Hershberger, at 4:30 am (we know it's early but you won't regret it!) in the parking lot of Cool Spring Preserve.  From there, you will walk out into the field and listen to the birds's dawn chorus crescendo and pass into daytime singing.

The trails at Cool Spring preserve are well maintained and the preserve's 12 acres is home to much wildlife. The trails can be slick if there has been rain, so wear appropriate footwear.

Anyone with an interest is welcome to come along, regardless of their birding skills.

Children ages 12 and up will be welcome but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants should wear sturdy footwear, dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions, and bring along water. Binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them.

The trip may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
