What better way to celebrate spring than going hiking on the Maryland Heights Overlook Trail!  That's across the railroad bridge in Harpers Ferry.  The view from the overlook is spectacular, but we're not on a race.  We'll explore what we find along the way.

Bring water and a snack for mid-morning. Dress for the weather.  Sturdy shoes are recommended for this event.  If it is warm and humid, you may want to come prepared with insect repellent.

You may be able to park at the Harpers Ferry Train Station, then walk down to the river overlook to meet the group, but if visitor traffic is heavy, you may have to park at the park's Visitor's Center and ride the bus to the lower town.  We will meet at the Potomac River overlook near the railroad trestle.

Outdoor Explore!  is designed to encourage families to explore nature through unstructured, but supervised, exploration and play in a variety of settings and habitats around the Eastern Panhandle.  For more information, contact Jan Hummer at janhummer@hotmail.com or 304-839-5128.
