Where:  Stauffer's Marsh, (across from 4069 Back Creek Valley Road, Hedgesville WV)

Explore the shallow ponds, marshy areas, woods and edge-lands of a true wetlands, then wander into the woods and look for beaver activity.  Keep going and you'll find yourself at Back Creek!  Bring a heavy snack to as a lunch substitute.  Insect repellent is recommended. Dress for the weather.  Rubber shoes or boots are recommended.

Outdoor Explore!  is designed to encourage families to explore nature through unstructured, but supervised, exploration and play in a variety of settings and habitats around the Eastern Panhandle.  For more information, contact Jan Hummer at janhummer@hotmail.com or 304-839-5128.
