Celebrate IMBD! Big Sit at Harpers Ferry National Park, Murphy Farm

Join in the celebration of International Migratory Bird Day by participating in a Big Sit.

When: Saturday May 3, 2014
Time: 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where: Harpers Ferry National Park; Murphy Farm, River Vista Overlook
Who: Everyone
Fee: The Event is free however in order to park at the National Park, you will need a park pass or need to pay a $10 vehicle fee.

Our newest Birdathon activity, this friendly gathering is a challenge to see how many bird species can be identified from a 50-foot diameter circle in the Park. It's a great family activity and an easy way to learn about birds in our area.

No pre-registration required, just come and join us.
Participants may come and go at any time during the Big Sit hours of 7:00 - 1:00.  

The Big Sit Circle will be located approximately 0.9 miles from the Visitors Center at Murphy Farm, River Vista Overlook. 

Parking is available at the Visitors Center of Harpers Ferry Historical National Park.  A park pass or $10 vehicle fee is required.  The park gates are now open all hours. If you arrive before the 9 AM official opening time, you can drive through, park, and show your pass or pay up later.

Binoculars will be available for those that do not have their own.  

Rain Date will be Sunday May 4, 2014 at the same time, place and location.
