This weekend workshop is tailored for the beginner that has used a camera at least a few times, but it is also useful for more experienced shooters.  While we will be focusing on 35 mm format (film and digital) equipment and techniques, point-and-shoot photographers are also encouraged to participate. We will cover all aspects of nature photography with classroom and outdoor field sessions.  Topics of discussion will include light, composition, equipment, workflow, and how to find images.

This course is co-sponsored by Cacapon State Park and Potomac Valley Audubon Society.  The course will be taught by Wil and Donna Hershberger who are both accomplished nature photographers.

The weekend will begin on Friday night (6:30-9:00 p.m.), continue on Saturday (6:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.), and conclude on Sunday (6:30 a.m.-Noon).  Sessions will be held at Cacapon State Park, outside Berkeley Springs WV.

Everyone should bring a camera to the course and lenses, tripod and flash (if you have them).

Those wishing to stay at the Cacapon State Park Lodge, should make your own reservations with the lodge.  To get a discounted  rate, please tell the lodge staff that you are with the Nature Photography Workshop when you call to make a reservation.  You can make reservations directly with the lodge by calling (304) 258-1022. Lodging will be for Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20 nights only.

We strongly recommend that you make reservations as soon as you register for the workshop.  Once your reservation is confirmed, cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to arrival time.

Class size will be limited to 15 participants. The course is open to people of all ages but children younger than 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

*Cancellations: All but $50 of the registration fees will be refunded up to one week before the program begins. No refunds are allowed for no-shows or after the workshop has begun. PVAS reserves the right to cancel the workshop due to unforeseen issues. In this case, a full refund will be given.
