Join in the celebration of International Migratory Bird Day by participating in a Big Sit.

Price: Free
When: Saturday May 3, 2014
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where: Sam Michael's Park, Jefferson County Parks and Recreation, Shenandoah Junction
Who: Everyone

Our newest Birdathon activity, this friendly gathering is a challenge to see how many bird species can be identified from a 50-foot diameter circle in the Park. It's a great family activity and an easy way to learn about birds in our area.

No pre-registration required, just come and join us.
Participants may come and go at any time during the Big Sit hours of 8:00 - 1:00.

The Big Sit Circle will be located at Sam Michael's Park on Job Corps Road, Shenandoah Junction.  The exact location within the park is the picnic area at the "west" entrance to the park (the entrance to the ball fields).  A special feature this year will be a StoryWalk for families featuring the book "Flute's Journey" by Lynne Cherry.

Parking is available in the parking lots near the main building on Sam Michaels Lane.

Binoculars will be available for those that do not have their own.

Rain Date will be Sunday May 4, 2014 at the same time, place and location.
