EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN: Biking/Birding Trip along the Western Maryland Rail Trail

The Potomac Valley Audubon is cosponsoring, along with the Washington County Bird Club,  a biking/birding trip along the Western Maryland Rail Trail near Hancock.

Sandy Sagalkin, a PVAS birding committee member, is leading the trip.  The event is free and children are welcome however participation will be limited and pre-registration is required. To register, contact Sandy at monsansagalkin@myactv.net or 240-291-6465.  

The trip will begin at 8:00 AM at the parking lot of the C&O Canal Visitor Center in Hancock.

The trip will focus on spring migrants. It will last two and a half to three hours. The plan will be to bike at a leisurely pace and stop whenever birds of interest are seen or heard.

All participants must supply their own bicycles. This trip will be canceled in the event of any rain.  Please wear appropriate footwear, dress for the prevailing weather conditions and bring along drinking water, sunscreen and insect repellent.
