Early Morning Nature Walk: Birds and Butterflies

  • Thursday, June 05, 2014
  • 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • CraftWorks at Cool Spring
Love birds and butterflies? Join Master Birder, Joette Borzik, and Bruni Haydl, Master Butterfly Enthusiast, for a Birding and Butterfly walk at Craftworks on Thursday June 5. Both field trip leaders are certified West Virginia Master Naturalists.

Participants should plan to meet the trip leaders in the parking lot of Craftworks at 7:00 AM. Bring binoculars if you have them. Some binoculars are available for loan and can be reserved by contacting Joette at (240) 440-4221 or pep4223@comcast.net. This walk is free and open to anyone with an interest, regardless of their birding and butterfly skills. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration for this field trip is mandatory. Register here on the CraftWorks website.

Be prepared to hike at least one mile on uneven terrain on the trails of Craftworks. You may opt out of the trip at any time, or stay as long as you wish. The trip should last approximately 3-4 hours. Dress for the prevailing weather conditions, and bring drinking water, a snack, sun block and insect repellent. This trip will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, we will focus on birds, as butterflies will not be active.
