    Location:  Yankauer Preserve is located across the street from 455 Whiting's Neck Rd, Martinsburg, WV.  The entrance is well marked with ample parking available.

    Join us for a day of maintenance day at Yankauer Nature Preserve! Learn about native plant identification and their non-native weedy competitors. Learn how to best remove these undesirable weeds to protect and preserve native species. We'll work together to accomplish trail clearing and invasive species removal in preparation for events at Yankauer. Gather among friends refreshments and snacks while we complete some trail maintenance work at Yankauer Nature Preserve.

    Yankauer Nature Preserve protects native habitat for local flora and fauna, and is a favorite local area for hiking and birdwatching in Berkeley County. Maintenance work and invasive species removal is necessary to promote high quality native habitat at Yankauer Nature Preserve.  Your help is appreciated as we work together to clear invasive species and enhance habitat for local wildlife. Every pair of hands helps make a difference! 

    All necessary training, tools, gloves will be provided. Light refreshments will also be available. Yankauer Nature Preserve has bathrooms and water will be available to refill water bottles. 

    Master Naturalists who participate will earn volunteer hours for their re-certification.

    Location:  Cool Spring Preserve is found at 1469 Lloyd Rd, Charles Town, WV. The entrance is well marked and ample parking is available.

    Join us for a day of maintenance at Cool Spring Preserve! Learn how to identify native plants and their non-native weedy competitors. Learn how to best remove these undesirable species to protect and preserve native species. We'll work together to accomplish invasive species removal and habitat restoration.  Gather among friends for some hot coffee, cocoa, tea and cookies while we complete some outdoor maintenance work at Cool Spring Preserve.

    Invasive species removal is necessary to promote high quality native habitat at Cool Spring Preserve.  Your help is appreciated as every pair of hands helps make a difference! 

    All necessary training, tools, gloves will be provided. Light refreshments will also be available. Cool Spring Preserve has indoor bathrooms.

    We will be working in the meadow to improve monarch habitat by removing invasive species and promoting the desirable pollinator species. 

    Master Naturalists who participate will earn volunteer credit hours for their recertification.

    Hosts: Certified Master Naturalists and the Master Naturalist Coordinating Committee

    We welcome everyone to stop by our Open House for Prospective Master Naturalists on Saturday, November 18 from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Morgan County Board of Education Office Building, Berkeley Springs, WV. 

    Have you been wondering how you can help protect West Virginia’s natural resources, educate yourself on a wide variety of Natural History topics and serve your community? Then this open house is for you!

    Stop by and learn about the training and volunteer opportunities offered by the W.V. Master Naturalist Program at the Potomac Valley Audubon Chapter’s Open House. Meet some Master Naturalists, see examples of volunteer projects, and have your questions answered.

    Our Master Naturalist Program is for ages 16 years and older.

    Registration for the open house is not required but encouraged.

    If you are currently a certified Master Naturalist, please feel free to bring along a friend that might be interested in becoming one as well! 

    The open house is just prior to the 10:00 PVAS Public Program.

    The Board of Education building is located at the Morgan County Board of Education Office, 247 Harrison Ave., Berkeley Springs, WV
