Plan to join us on Saturday, April 30 for the Potomac Valley Master Naturalist 2017 Annual Spring Gathering at Cacapon Resort State Park located in Morgan County. This year the theme will be An Aldo Leopold Spring.
We invite all Master Naturalists and their families to attend this fun filled day at Cacapon State Park.
In addition to natural history electives the day will offer separate opportunities to read from Leopold’s “A Sand County Almanac”, build a Leopold Bench, and practice Dutch oven cooking.
The day will start with a morning bird walk at 8:30 AM lead by Lynne Wiseman. Other activities, including Campfire Cooking at 10:30, will be offered throughout the day.
We will enjoy a pot luck lunch at 12 noon so plan to bring a dish to share. Tanner Haid will present on urban forestry during the lunch hour.
For those interested there will be a trail hike to a far point within the park following lunch.
*If you are interested in building a Leopold bench please register for this event (registration needed only if you plan to build a bench). More information to follow regarding this event. There will either be a need to purchase the recommended wood/supplies or there will be an opportunity to pay for a pre-purchased kit. Assistance will be provided to cut, drill and assemble the benches. Anyone who has tools including skill saw, hand saw, and drill/bits please bring them.
Hope to see you at the 2017 PVMN Spring Gathering. Bring family and friends for a great time.
