Our Mission –

“Potomac Valley Nature Photographers is dedicated to celebrating nature photography in all its forms and at all levels of practice. It promotes the growth and development of its members’ photographic skills through the sharing of in-house expertise and the provision of instructional programs by local and national experts. It actively promotes public awareness of local natural resources and the need to conserve these resources. Through education, it seeks to pass along the rich traditions of nature photography to future generations.”

Welcome to the new website for the Potomac Valley Nature Photographers. In an effort to keep the website as up-to-date as possible, we have moved to the PVAS website where other officers of the club can edit and maintain the pages. We look forward to your feedback and suggestions for additions to your club's web presence. Thank you.

Formed in 2006, the Potomac Valley Nature Photographers serves the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and neighboring counties in Maryland and Virginia.

We provide a venue for those interested in nature photography to share and learn from each other and from outside experts. We have members from all skill levels of photography. Those with point-and-shoot all the way to the latest in DSLRs are welcome to join and attend meetings.

We meet September through May on the second Friday of the month at the National Conservation Training Center. We also hold field trips throughout the year, especially during the summer months. These field trips will occasionally be tailored to different skill level groups, beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Some field trips will focus on macro or scenic photography, wildflowers, wildlife and others.  Our next meeting will be Friday, September 13!

Please check the Events Calendar for meeting and field trip information or contact the group at PVNPexec@gmail.com if you have questions.

Anyone is welcome to join, from beginners to professional photographers, no matter what kind of equipment they use. Membership dues are $10 a year per individual.
