CANCELED | Full Moon Walk at Cool Spring Preserve

Wednesday, April 1 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

This event has been canceled due to expected weather conditions.

Join Allen for an evening stroll to explore the sights and sounds of the nocturnal world under the full moon!

PVAS Host: Allen Miller

Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, though youth must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required and limited to 15 participants.

April’s full moon is sometimes referred to as the “Pink Moon,” in reference to creeping phlox, which is typically in bloom at this time. If the sky is clear, we will hike by the light of the full moon along the trails at Cool Spring Preserve. If the evening is cloudy, we will still enjoy an evening stroll as a group. Regardless of the weather, we will enjoy the unique sights, sounds and smells of the nocturnal world together! Please note that Cool Spring Preserve is normally open only from dawn to dusk, but is accessible at night through special nighttime events like these.

  • Walking Distance: 1-1.5 miles

  • Parking/Where to Meet: Participants should meet at the back deck (just down from the parking lot) of the Nature Center.
  • What to Bring: Sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The group will walk by moonlight as much as possible, but bring a flashlight in case it is needed.
