Be prepared to act in an emergency! Jefferson County Emergency Services Agency (JCESA) instructors will lead this hands-on training designed to give you essential lifesaving skills. Using the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) curriculum, this course covers:
- CPR & AED for All Ages – Learn how to perform CPR and use an AED for infants, children, and adults.
- Stop the Bleed – Gain practical techniques to control severe bleeding until professional help arrives. (Learn more at www.stopthebleed.org)
The class combines a classroom setting with plenty of hands-on practice, including CPR on mannequins, so you’ll leave feeling confident and prepared. This training is especially valuable for Potomac Valley Master Naturalists and PVAS volunteers who lead or assist with hikes, classes, or events—giving you peace of mind that you can respond if a participant experiences a medical emergency.
Upon completion, participants will receive a CPR/AED certification card and a Stop the Bleed completion card—a powerful addition to your volunteer toolkit! Registration remains open until October 7, and updates will be shared through the JCESA Facebook Page or the email address you provide during registration.
