Discovery Camp: Nature Skills

Monday, August 3 @ 9:00 am - Friday, August 7 @ 3:00 pm

Nature Skills (entering grades 7-12)

This camp session is perfect for middle and high school campers who are interested in developing their outdoor skillset in a fun and welcoming environment. Campers will hone their survival skills and participate in fire building challenges, water filtering activities, and preserve orienteering. We will learn identification skills for birds and bird-songs and make use of dichotomous keys for trees and plants. Campers will also participate in a wildlife study that we do in partnership with the WV Department of Natural Resources. Nature crafting- weaving, cordage, and eco-printing- and journaling activities will round out the week. Campers will learn to document their nature discoveries and return home with reminders of their Nature Skills camp experience!
