Rolling Ridge Conservancy Bird Walk
Tuesday, December 13 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am
PVAS Trip Leaders: Bill Telfair & Scot DeGraf
This event is free and open to the public, however, registration is required and limited to 15 participants. If you can no longer attend, please notify email@example.com so that others may attend.
We are very excited to be able to offer bird walks on the gorgeous trails of Rolling Ridge Conservancy. We hope you will join Bill and Scot as they explore some of the 1500 acres of protected woodlands. These walks will be held on the second Tuesday of every month.
The trails wind through the woods with some hilly, rocky sections that could be slippery when wet. Please wear sturdy walking shoes, bring along drinking water and walking poles are encouraged. Binoculars will be available for anyone that needs them.
At this time of year, participants can expect to see mostly winter birds of the deep woods, including chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, Brown creepers, wrens, sparrows, Northern cardinals, and woodpeckers. There is at least one pair of Pileated woodpeckers in permanent residence.
Please meet by 7:30 am at 138 Tupelo Lane, Harpers Ferry, WV. The walk will last at least a couple of hours.
Anyone with an interest is welcome to come along, regardless of their birding skills.
Rolling Ridge Conservancy welcomes donations, which can either be accepted on the morning of the walk or through their website. Please ask Bill or Scot how your donations will help foster their mission.
If you have questions or would like more information, contact Krista Hawley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 681-252-1387.
If you are having trouble finding the meeting spot on the morning of the walk, please feel free to contact trip leaders Bill Telfair or Scot DeGraf for directions. Bill’s number is 408-966-8895 and Scot’s number is 301-275-2009.
Children are welcome but they must be accompanied by an adult.
The trip may be cancelled in the event of bad weather but will continue if only a light drizzle.
