Teacher Workshop | Project WILD

Teachers – spend your day at a nature preserve and earn your Project WILD Terrestrial certification!
PVAS Host: Will O’Boyle
Free and open to teachers. The content of this training will be targeted to middle school teachers. This program is for adults. Pre-registration is required and limited to 20 participants. This program has a minimum of 5 participants.
PVMN Continuing Education Credit Eligible
Participants will earn Project WILD Terrestrial K-12 certification. This internationally recognized environmental education curriculum guide helps early career educators gain comfort in teaching environmental topics in hands-on ways and gives experienced educators the opportunity to grow their skills and knowledge.
- Walking Distance: Little to no walking, though definitely some movement.
- Restroom: Indoor, flushing restrooms are available in the Case Nature Center.
- Parking/Where to Meet: Please meet inside the Case Nature Center.
- What to Bring: Bring a water bottle, note-taking supplies, and a packed lunch. Also think ahead – you should know what your favorite animal adaptation is!
Registration will remain open until the start of the program.
If the required minimum # of people do not register by 4 pm the evening prior, the program will be cancelled.

About our Host: Will served at Potomac Valley Audubon Society as an AmeriCorps environmental educator in 2023 and 2024. Prior to his time with PVAS, he worked as an urban forestry surveyor and as a herbarium technician. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University in Literature and Letters, minoring in Forestry and Biology. Since his time at PVAS, Will has been working at Patuxent Research Refuge.
