Xavier Carr
AmeriCorps service member, Environmental Educator
Xavier is a returning AmeriCorps member beginning his new role as an environmental educator for the Potomac Valley Audubon Society. He has been an active member of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society since 2020, participating in the “Weed Warrior” days at the Yankauer Nature Preserve, Cool Spring Nature Preserve, and Stauffer’s Marsh Nature Preserve. He has always dreamed of a role that connects people with nature to support their mental and physical health, and he looks forward to being an environmental educator and getting kids excited about being outdoors at an early age.
Xavier earned his bachelor’s degree in music composition with a minor in women and gender studies from Shepherd University, and he is currently a Master of Business Management student at Salem University. In his spare time, he enjoys composing music, acrylic painting, camping or hiking, road trips, playing D&D, and spending time with his husband, friends, family, and many pets!
