Join Allen Miller at Cool Spring Preserve for an evening of exploring the world of insects and spiders.
This program will include interesting facts, a group activity about the role of spiders in nature, and a short presentation on some of West Virginia’s common species. Afterward, we’ll head outside with flashlights to look for spiders and insects around the preserve.
Participants will learn what makes an insect an insect, as well as some basics about life cycles and habitats. It’s a chance to share observations, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of these often-overlooked creatures.
Feel free to bring a field guide or an app on your phone (“Seek” is a recommended app) if you have one you’d like to try.
