The Potomac Valley Audubon Society welcomes Randy Robinson as he presents “Bald Eagles of the Potomac Valley”

Join PVAS for their November Monthly Program where Randy Robinson will give us an in-depth look at the bald eagles of the Potomac Valley, especially focusing on the ones that make the nest at NCTC their home.

Bald Eagle populations have been growing significantly over the past 20 years in the Potomac Watershed. In the fall of 2003, a pair of bald eagles began building a nest at the USFWS National Conservation Training Center. This has been a very productive nest, with many young growing, fledging, and moving on to new territories.
With the installation of a video camera in 2006, people from around the globe have been observing the amazing lives of nesting bald eagles and their young. In this program, Randy will use photos and video clips to discuss bald eagle behavior, biology, nest history and some of the technology needed to keep eagle nest video streaming to our homes and school classrooms.

Randy Robinson works as an Instructional Systems Specialist and Producer in the Creative Resources Division – History and Partnerships Branch at the National Conservation Training Center. He works with the NCTC Studio to produce a variety of conservation education programs and coordinates the Conservation History online portal. http://conservationhistory.com

Randy coordinates the NCTC Eaglecam project in partnership with the Outdoor Channel and the Friends of NCTC to support conservation education.

He completed his Master’s in Education at West Virginia University with research in educational technology for environmental education. He has worked in West Virginia’s eco-tourism & commercial whitewater industry since 1976 as a river guide, trip leader and staff trainer.
